Hourly Rate & Minimum Charges
Computer Clinic provide both ad-hoc support and managed, proactive support too. As of 1st April 2026, our hourly rate is $170 + gst per hour with a minimum charge of 15 minutes. Our rate has remained un-changed for 2 years!
EXPLANATION AND NEW BENEFITS (below)
Ad-hoc support is provided ‘as and when needed’ on a ‘first come, first served basis’ with a ‘best effort’ outcome due to the often-unplanned nature of this type of randomly generated work. We charge a minimum of 15 minutes in order cover all aspects of a small, sub 15-minute job to cover everything involved (admin, processing, technical documentation, invoicing etc). We do not charge just the specific time on the job itself as other work is often carried out behind the scenes, as mentioned previously).
DON’T BE AFRAID OF CONTACTING US - LET’S TALK
We are always happy to chat initially for no charge for a few minutes to understand issues and situation which may not lead to anything being done and therefore will result in no charge.
Alternatively, after a few minutes, once we get into technical matters and start to provide help or advice in any capacity, please note that we have to start charging for our time to cover staff wages.
RATE FREEZE FOR 2 YEARS
Our hourly rate has not been increased for 2 years (April 2024), where it was set at $160 per hour. As 2025 was a terrible year for most businesses, we took the decision not to increase our hourly rate to help out with one less extra cost during a touch time for many.
However, due to significant increases in costs in every area of our business over the last 2 years we now need to increase our hourly rate. Wages, rent, travel, systems etc have all dramatically increased and we need to keep inline with market rates too.

HOW TO REDUCE IT COSTS - BE PROACTIVE
For certain customers, we do provide a formal agreement to respond and assist within certain timeframes as well as carrying out specific maintenance work to ensure systems are kept secure and operational. These vary customer to customer, but generally do require a higher level of managed services. Doing this will provide a more controllable environment as well as setting a minimum foundation to actually save you money in the long-term, as it provides standardization and a solid platform to work from and be more easily supported. So to avoid constant IT support calls at $170 + gst per hour, go on a managed contract, get your business up to a defined minimum standard and benefit from the streamlining and efficiencies created from having guaranteed maintenance completed, which will save you money long-term.
